The Ernst & Young report for IBEF(India Brand Equity Foundation) cites medical tourism to India growing to be at $2 billion by 2012. Indian medical standards and cost effectiveness bring about 2,00,000 patients to India who are encouraged to do so by their insurance companies. The report says that with over 10000 doctors, the scene of eye care and surgery in India is impressive. Kerala also has few superb eye care institutions.
