Dr. Thomas George is a Senior Consultant in Glaucoma Services with three decades of experience in the field of glaucoma management.

He has been a regular faculty at various State and National level conferences. He was part of the team that developed the practice guidelines published by the Glaucoma Society of India.

His areas of expertise are in the management of complex glaucoma, including lasers and surgeries, shunt implants and all forms of Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgeries (MIGS).

He implanted the first iStent implant in the state of Kerala some time back.

He completed his UG and PG training at The Christian Medical College, Vellore. His subsequent experience includes work as faculty at CMC, Vellore, TDMC Alappuzha and a long stint at the Regional Institute of Ophthalmology, Thiruvananthapuram.

At the Regional Institute he was instrumental in developing the Glaucoma Clinic and eventually left service there as an Associate Professor to join the Chaithanya Eye Hospital and Research Institute, Trivandrum in 2012.
