Dr John Davis Akkara is a Glaucoma, Cataract and Refractive Surgeon at Chaithanya Eye Hospital & Research Institute, Ravipuram and Palarivattom. With over a decade of experience, he is trained in Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery, Phacoemulsification and LASIK.

His expertise includes glaucoma diagnostics, trabeculectomy surgery, SLT, MIGS (KDB, iStent, Hydrus) and topical phacoemulsification cataract surgery.

He has completed fellowships at Aravind Eye Hospital, Sankara Nethralaya and AIOS. He has worked as faculty, PG teacher and consultant in reputed institutions and is actively involved in academic teaching, research and innovation, including holding a patent.

He presents at APAO, AIOC, GSI, TNOA, KSOS and is an SSTC trainer in KDB Glide, iStent, Phaco, Trabeculectomy, BHEX and Iris Claw IOLs.
