Ocular Microbiology

In today’s era of rapidly advancing diagnostics, eye infections remain one of the most challenging areas to diagnose accurately. This is mainly due to:

  • • Difficulty in preserving the viability of ocular pathogens
  • • Very small sample volumes
  • • Presence of natural inhibitory substances in ocular specimens
Ocular Microbiology Laboratory

Since 2019, we have been providing specialized ocular microbiology services to our patients. We are now pleased to extend these services to patients and clinicians from other ophthalmic institutes and hospitals.

Our Ultimate Goal

To prevent and control blindness caused by eye infections, while also helping to reduce unnecessary antibiotic use, a growing global concern due to antibiotic resistance.
